Community Resolve is a community-led organisation set up in central Bristol in 2003. We are a fully constituted, not-for-profit limited company with a volunteer board of directors.
Community Resolve runs training in understanding and working with conflict, and provides community facilitation to local organisations and groups involved in partnership work. It also addresses community conflicts that arise in residential areas around Bristol, some of which involve people from different cultural backgrounds. The Bristol Gang Awareness Project (GAP) - part of Community Resolve - works with young people around conflict, running workshops, youth conferences, groupwork and partnership work across the central Bristol area.
The organisation is working to:
- change the way people view and approach conflict (more)
- raise awareness of the impact we all have on conflicts we are involved in (more)
- build confidence about how to deal with conflict situations (more)
- reduce the stress and anxiety associated with a lack of options (more)
- provide alternative approaches to community conflict (more)
- encourage mutual respect and recognition between all those living in our local communities (more).
