Tower block troubles

Lack of language, poor housing and no social contact between original and new residents led to physical and verbal clashes. We led a multi-agency initiative to train locals from both communities to work together.

Groupwork with young men

A youth-justice support organisation asked us to work with a group of out-of-control young men. After 8 weeks groupwork exploring issues such as gender, power, conflict, money and relationships, workers saw a turnaround.

Longterm harassment

Eight years of harassment by local young people had left the family exhausted. We worked with the family and the young people to think through their behaviours and make the changes needed to leave each other alone.

A morning of exercises and discussion with Year 9s, exploring the meaning of conflict, its roots and how to approach it as part of a project with Bristol Museum.

Sports & nutrition group

For a year, a group of young men aged 16-22 met to train, cook and eat together. Over 12 months, the core group of 8 moved from being on the edge of gang involvement to being employed or back in study.

Conflict over sex education

Parents at a local primary school were concerned about the values portrayed in a sex education DVD. We worked with the school and parents to find a way forward that worked for everyone.

Faith transforming conflict

Our two-day 'Women of Faith transforming conflict' course brought together women of all perspectives. ‘So many ages, temperaments, faiths and cultures discussing such gritty issues' said one participant.
